Over the past couple of years, I've noticed a trend. That is people post things to "others" that probably should have been PM's to them, and not for the forum thread itself.

When you're posting, ask this question?: Is this to a specific member or is it about the subject in general?

If it's to a specific member, then send that via PM and don't post it in the thread. If you think the info should be included in the thread, then word it that way.

Examples:

Items for sale, asking a specific member if they remember seeing something like that. That post has nothing to do with the sale and should be a PM to that member.

Items for sale, asking if more pics can be provided or providing additional info to help with that sale? That should be in the thread, but could also be a PM to the OP.

Just trying to keep the forums related to the subjects and not become a PM thread discussion where they shouldn't be.

Thanks for reading!
